Managing social media for multiple clients: a setup that scales

The moment you take on a second or third client, the cracks show. Channels from different brands sit in one pool, a teammate can see accounts they shouldn't, and month-end reporting becomes a copy-paste marathon. The fix is structure — set it up once and it scales.

Separate brands, not just channels

The core idea is a brand workspace: a container that holds one client's channels, calendar, content, analytics and report, walled off from every other client. This matters for more than tidiness — it prevents the nightmare scenario of the wrong post going to the wrong client's account. If your tool only gives you one big pool of channels, you're one mislabelled draft away from an incident.

Give people access to only what they touch

A freelancer working on one client shouldn't see the other nine. Scope each teammate to specific brands, and use roles to control what they can do:

  • Admin — full control of the workspace.
  • Editor — create and schedule, within their brands.
  • Client — review and approve, but not publish freely.
  • View-only — see the calendar and reports, nothing more.

An activity log — who scheduled, published or changed what — is the other half of this. When something goes out unexpectedly, you want an answer in seconds.

Make reporting a button, not a project

Clients want to see results, and "results" shouldn't cost you a day of screenshots. A per-brand monthly report that pulls the month's deliverables and key metrics into one shareable summary turns reporting from a chore into a click. Bonus points if it exports cleanly and carries the brand's own context, so you can send it as-is.

Standardise your queue times per brand

Each client's audience is awake at different times. Set a queue — recurring posting slots — per brand, tuned to when that audience engages, and let content flow into it. You stop making a hundred small "what time should this go out?" decisions a week.

What to look for in a tool

  • Brand workspaces on every plan, not just the top tier.
  • Per-brand roles and access, plus an activity log.
  • Native publishing to every network your clients use.
  • Per-brand analytics and a shareable monthly report.
  • Pricing that doesn't punish you per seat as your team grows.

OwlKonnect is built around multi-brand workspaces from the entry plan up — up to 10 brands, each fully separated, with per-brand roles, analytics and monthly reports, and flat pricing. If you're outgrowing a single-account tool, see how the alternatives compare or start a free trial.
